PUMA celebrates Breaker’s Title Night with the New England Wave

This past Sunday as the Boston Breakers rolled over SkyBlue FC 4-0 in front of a crowd of 6,108 fans, the New England Wave joined PUMA on site to celebrate their Title Night.  Members of The Wave acted as pre-game escorts for the Breakers, played PUMA’s version of human foosball at half time and had the opportunity to hang out with PUMA athletes Alex Scott from the Breakers and Tasha Kai from Sky Blue after the game.

The Breakers are now unbeaten in eight of their last nine games and play their final home game this Saturday at Veteran Memorial Stadium in New Britian, Conn at 5pm ET as they play host to the Atlanta Beat.

Indepedence Fans rally around Project Pink

This past weekend as the Philadelphia Independence tied the Boston Breakers in a 2-2 draw, Independence fans rallied around PUMA’s Project Pink to show their support of breast cancer awareness.  Fans stopped by the PUMA tent before the game to sport a pink PUMA cat tattoo, pink face paint and don pink PUMA bandanas.  They also had the opportunity to show support for loved ones affected by the disease by signing the “I PLAY FOR” wall.

To show YOUR support, you can log onto wps.pumafootball.com/projectpink and nominate your favorite breast cancer charity who could ultimately receive a donation consisting of 100% of the profits from the sale of PUMA Project Pink gear.  Fans, its up to YOU- join the fight against breast cancer and get involved!

Behind the scenes at the FC Gold Pride Project Pink Game

Before FC Gold Pride took the field yesterday for their Project Pink game vs the Chicago Red Stars, the team had some fun sporting their PUMA pink bandanas and wrist bands!

Breakers victorious in Project Pink Match vs the Freedom

This past Saturday, the Boston Breakers tallied a 3-1 victory over the Washington Freedom while sporting their pink kits and playing host to their Project Pink game.  The crowd of over four thousand fans showed up to cheer the Breakers on to victory and to show their support of PUMA’s Project Pink and breast cancer awareness.  Following the game, the Breakers auctioned off the pink jerseys and raised over $7,000 which was donated to Boston’s chapter of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

Boston Breakers forward Lauren Cheney commented on the significance of playing in the pink jerseys: “My grandma had breast cancer and I know a lot of people that have been affected. To be playing for this cause and to be auctioning off these jerseys, it was fun, a good time and it made me want to work a little bit harder.”

Make sure to check out the up coming Project Pink Games in your area.  Come stop by to show your support- first 3,000 fans into each game will receive a pink PUMA bandana!
