Boston Breakers host first Project Pink Game this Saturday!

Boston Breakers midfielder and PUMA Athlete Leslie Osborne along with teammate Jordan Angeli had some fun testing out their new pink kits and getting ready for their “Project Pink” game this weekend (keep an eye out for a little video we may have filmed with the girls during our visit!) PUMA launched Project Pink this week, and the Breakers game this Saturday, July 31st will mark the first of five WPS games focused on breast cancer awareness.

PUMA will outfit players in special Project Pink kits for these matches, and the brand has also created a range of Project Pink merchandise that is available for purchase in stadium or by visiting shop.puma.com. 100 % of the profits from the sale of PUMA’s Project Pink gear will be donated to a breast cancer-affiliated nonprofit to be named as the result of a national online voting campaign.

“When I heard about Project Pink, I thought it was such a great idea and knew I wanted to get involved and help however I could,” explained Osborne. “Breast cancer affects so many women across the country and around the world, and I know a few friends’ and teammates’ moms who’ve suffered from and beat the disease – but I think it’s important not to wait until it hits home to educate yourself. Project Pink is an awesome opportunity to reach out to the fans. I think awareness is truly the first step.”

Come to the Breakers game this Saturday at 6pm to support the team and Project Pink!

PUMA and the WPS Celebrate Unity Weekend!

1245792115rongghqgv3b85771

At each WPS match held this past weekend, all of the players took the field in PUMA’s Africa Unity Jacket. Created in celebration of the upcoming World Cup in South Africa, these warm up jackets are the same ones that will be worn by PUMA-sponsored African National Teams. Inspired by the blue of the African sky and the brown of its rich soil, they’re a symbol of unity: despite the fact that these African teams will play for their individual countries, they are all united in their love and support for the continent of Africa. As an added layer, the initiative also supports biodiversity programs in Africa as part of PUMA’s “Play for Life” campaign.

By wearing the Africa Unity Jacket, the athletes of WPS demonstrated their support for the continent and their excitement around next month’s World Cup kickoff. Some also sported PUMA Lacelets, featuring African-inspired graphics by artist Kehinde Wiley. Check out PUMA’s Lace School before every game to get your pair of laces and celebrate with us!

Win Your Way into the PUMA Spree!

atl-vip-card-front

Make sure to stop by the PUMA tent at every WPS home game for your chance to get a “Recognize Awesome” Spree Pass that might have the winning number!  During the game, an announcement will be made and the winning number will be read off.  One special fan will have 30 seconds to get from their seat to the retail tent and dress in as much PUMA/WPS gear as possible.  The best part is, whatever the fan manages to put on in those 30 seconds, they get to keep!

All fans should bring their Spree Pass to every game because who knows, just because your number isn’t called in one game, doesn’t mean it won’t be called in the next!  Take a look below for a sneak peak on what the Spree Passes look like for all 8 WPS teams:
